Founding Members

Dr. Corti has over 15 years of clinical practice and 10 years of research experience focusing on understanding neuromotor dysfunction and recovery.  She's worked on gene therapy approaches for the treatment of genetic conditions such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Pompe disease, and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics focuses on Friedreich's Ataxia.

Dr. Byrne comes to the field with over 20 years of experience, with his research focusing on developing novel gene therapy approaches for neuromuscular diseases, such as Pompe disease, LGMD and DMD.  He currently serves as the Pediatric Medical Director of the MDA Care Center at UF Health.
